The Trumpet speaks of Resurrection
I’m going to be brief today. Certainly, we have covered this aspect of the trumpet in the Bible but not necessarily from this particular view. The Trumpet speaks of resurrection.
We’ll go back to I Thessalonians 4:16-17:
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a SHOUT, the VOICE of the archangel and with the TRUMPET of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.” I Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NASB95)
That’s pretty simple to understand in terms of resurrection. But there’s an ancient path for you. Notice the order.
- The Lord will decend
- With the voice of the archangel
- With a shout
- With the trumpet of God
THEN
- The dead in Christ will rise
- We who are alive and remain will be caught up
1 through 4 must occur before 5 and 6 will manifest. It’s an ancient path. It leads to Jesus!
Then there is the little known parcel of Scripture in Psalm 47:5
“God has ascended with a shout, The Lord with the sound of a trumpet.” Psalm 47:5 (NASB95)
Now this Psalm it mighty in its praise and worship. But then, David sneaks this in about “God ASCENDING with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a TRUMPET.”? Hmmmmm……it appears to me that it’s in reverse order of I Thessalonians 4:16. I wonder if that has any significance?
Kinda gives you something to think about, doesn’t it?
