The Watchman’s Bio

The Old WatchmanLonnie Richardson spent the first thirty-three years of his life working on his family’s farm raising cattle, hogs, horses, and chickens. He later transitioned into a career of nursing where he served others for thirty years, walking alongside people through illness, injury, suffering, recovery, and death.

In March 2025, Lonnie’s life was changed when a massive brain hemorrhage ended his nursing career and forced him into retirement and a long season of recovery. What followed was not a tidy story of faith, but a hard earned testimony of weakness, endurance, and God’s presence in the midst of loss.

Lonnie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Religion from Liberty University and is the host of “The Watchman Speaks” podcast with over 150 episodes. “The Watchman Speaks” is where Lonnie shares true life stories of faith anchored in Scripture as he conveys biblical wisdom. With what many describe as a “mountain man” appearance and a plain spoken style, Lonnie connects deeply with men and women who are weary of polished answers and are looking for faith that actually holds under pressure.

Lonnie speaks to churches, men’s groups, and gatherings seeking honest conversations about suffering, resilience, and trusting God when life breaks. Some of his stories are humorous, others are difficult – all are real.

Lonnie’s message is simple: Faith is not proven by strength, but by endurance.

I am The Old Watchman, Ezekiel. You have been warned!
